Mapegum WPS

Mapegum WPS is a liquid waterproofing membrane known for its flexibility, ease of use, and fast drying time. Designed for creating moisture barriers indoors, it comes as a gray paste made from synthetic resins in a water dispersion and is free from solvents.

Mapegum WPS has a thixotropic consistency, allowing easy application on vertical, horizontal, and sloped surfaces. After the rapid evaporation of water, it transforms into a flexible film that adheres well to the substrate. It provides an excellent base layer for adhesives used in the installation of ceramic tiles and natural stone. Once dry, the material can withstand light foot traffic.

Its flexibility enables Mapegum WPS to absorb stresses and substrate deformations caused by thermal changes or vibrations. Additionally, its elastic properties make it suitable for use as a protective layer on surfaces prone to microcracks (< 1 mm).

Application:

Mapegum WPS can be applied on the following substrates:

• Gypsum board, gypsum and cement plasters, aerated concrete blocks, plywood
• Cement and anhydrite screeds, wooden and magnesite floors, existing ceramic and natural stone coverings (previously primed with Mapeprim SP)

Examples of Application:

• Moisture barrier for walls and floors in bathrooms and shower cabins, before installing ceramic tiles and natural stone coverings.
• Moisture barrier for walls and floors in kitchens and countertops, before installing ceramic tiles and natural stone coverings.

Usage:

• About 1.5 kg/m² per mm of layer thickness.
