SanovaPre (Baumit SanierVorspritz SV 61)

Renovation Bonding Coat

Properties:

SanovaPre (formerly Baumit SanierVorspritz SV 61) is a high-quality mineral renovation bonding coat specifically designed for machine application. This product stands out for its excellent water retention and exceptional adhesion to substrates. This is especially important in building renovations, where materials with high durability and effectiveness are required. The bonding coat can be easily applied both manually and with specialized machines, increasing its versatility and making it user-friendly. Thanks to its strength and ability to capillary transmit water, SanovaPre is ideal for use on damp and salt-laden walls, but it can also be used in new construction, making it a versatile solution for various building projects.

Applications:

SanovaPre (formerly Baumit SanierVorspritz SV 61) is part of Baumit’s renovation product line, specifically designed for renovating damp and salt-laden mineral substrates, such as brick walls or old, water-absorbing concrete. The product acts as an adhesion layer between the substrate and the renovation plaster, which is crucial for achieving long-lasting renovation results. It is indispensable for stone walls, where particular attention needs to be paid to structural cohesion and strength. For substrates with high water absorption, SanovaPre helps balance the rate of water absorption, which is essential for the stability and durability of the entire structure. The surface to be primed should be covered by 50%, but depending on the need, full spraying of the bonding coat is also possible, especially for salt-laden substrates containing sulfates or gypsum. This product balances the properties of substrates with unstable characteristics, providing optimal conditions for further renovation work.

Grain Size:

0-4 mm

Consumption:

  • Approx. 5-6 kg/m² (50% coverage)
  • Approx. 9-10 kg/m² (full coverage)

SanovaPre is available as a dry renovation mortar compliant with EN 998-1 standards and certified by WTA. It can be applied both manually and by machine, offering great flexibility in the choice of application method. Its composition includes sand, cement with increased resistance to sulfates, and additives that improve workability and enhance adhesion. This makes the product not only effective but also easy to use, which is significant in practical construction work.

Application Instructions:

Before application, the substrate must be dry, clean, stable, and free of dust, grease, and loose material. Do not apply to gypsum-based substrates. Mix the product with clean water, without adding any other ingredients. Manual preparation should be done in mortar containers or with a hand mixer for about 3 minutes. For machine application, due to the coarse grain, use the appropriate screw conveyors and rinse the hoses with lime slurry beforehand. The bonding coat should be applied in strips, covering 50% of the surface, but if needed, it can be applied to the entire surface of the wall (with a layer thickness of 5 mm). The product is not suitable for leveling uneven substrates, and the applied bonding coat should be wetted if necessary to prevent drying out. All prepared material must be used before the start of the binding process, and once the material is bound, it cannot be re-mixed.

Work should not be carried out in direct sunlight, during rain, or strong winds. Freshly applied bonding coats should be protected for 1-2 days from drying and other harmful factors. In enclosed spaces, proper drying of the bonding coat should be ensured through ventilation and/or drying. A 1-2 day break should be observed before applying the next layer to avoid adhesion problems on a damp wall.
