Deep Penetrating Primer

Baumit MultiPrimer (TiefenGrund)  is a ready-to-use, vapor-permeable primer designed to strengthen mineral and organic surfaces.

Key Features of Baumit MultiPrimer:

• Vapor-permeable, allowing the surface to breathe.
• Reduces the absorbency of the substrate, ensuring better adhesion and durability for subsequent layers.

Applications:

MultiPrimer is used to improve the strength and stability of surfaces before applying Baumit facade plasters (paste-based) and facade paints.

Suitable Substrates:

• Lime, lime-cement, and cement-based plasters
• Concrete
• Gypsum plasters
• Other sandy or unstable mineral surfaces
• Compatible with Baumit facade plasters and paints

Unsuitable for Use On:

• Plastics
• Lacquered or oil-based coatings
• Adhesive or dispersion paints

Preparation and Application:

• The substrate must be stable, clean, dry, and free of dust, efflorescence, and loose particles.
• Apply with a roller or spray device.
• For multi-layer applications, ensure each layer is fully dry before applying the next.
• The first layer should be more diluted to allow optimal penetration. The dilution ratio depends on the substrate's condition and absorbency.
• Drying time: Minimum of 12 hours (depending on humidity and temperature).
• Avoid creating a glassy layer on the surface once dried.
• Do not apply the product undiluted.
• After applying MultiPrimer, ensure chalky surfaces are resistant to abrasion (perform a manual wipe test) before proceeding with further coatings.

Consumption:

• Approximately 0.25 kg/m² for fine-grain surfaces with a single coat.
