Baumit MultiContact MC 55 W is a factory-prepared dry mortar designed for manual or machine application. It serves as an adhesive layer for concrete or a thin-layer mineral plaster for facade renovation, combining ease of use with high durability.

Applications

Baumit MultiContact MC 55 W is used as a base leveling coat, reinforced with fiberglass mesh, on mineral substrates, thermal insulation plasters, resin-based plasters, and insulation boards. It can also be applied as a thin-layer finishing plaster. It complies with WTA 2-4-94 standards for renovating cracked facades.

  • Consumption: 1–2 kg/m²/mm
  • Yield: Approx. 24 liters of wet mortar per 25 kg bag
  • Water Requirement: 6–7 liters per 25 kg
  • Packaging: 25 kg bag, 42 bags/pallet (1050 kg)
  • Storage: Store in a dry, cool place on wooden pallets for up to 12 months.

Application Instructions

  1. Surface Preparation:
    • Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose particles, grease, or dust.
    • Remove peeling paint or film-forming substances like wax or form oil.
    • For highly absorbent substrates, pre-wet or use Baumit MultiPrimer.
  2. Application:
    • Apply 3–5 mm thick using a trowel or machine.
    • Embed fiberglass mesh into the fresh layer to reinforce crack-prone areas.
    • Wait one day per millimeter of thickness before applying additional layers.
  3. Finishing:
    • Create texture on the fresh surface by felting if desired.
    • When used as a topcoat, apply a hydrophobic paint for protection.

 

Precautions

  • Apply at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C.
  • Protect from direct sunlight, strong wind, or rapid drying conditions.
  • Clean tools with water immediately after use.
