How to Use Bostik Fixpro Turbo+ Foam Adhesive?

General Recommendations:

1. Surface Preparation:
   • On smooth and non-absorbent surfaces, such as enameled, glazed, or tiled areas, it is recommended to roughen the surface to improve adhesive adhesion.
   • Protect adjacent areas with painter’s tape or protective film to prevent contamination.
2. Preparation of the Canister:
   • Store the canister with the valve facing upward. Attach the application gun or the provided applicator.
   • Shake the container vigorously at least 20 times before use.
   • Turn the canister upside down to begin foam application. Discard the first 30 cm of foam, as it may have unstable pressure.
3. Application Adjustment:
   • Adjust the foam flow by loosening the valve located at the back of the gun handle.
   • Always wear appropriate protective gear, including gloves and safety goggles, while working.

Application Conditions:

1. Temperature:
   • Work in temperatures between -10°C and +35°C; the optimal ambient and surface temperature for application is between +15°C and +25°C.
   • Outdoor applications should only be carried out in dry weather conditions.
   • Avoid applying in direct sunlight or during strong winds.
2. Canister Temperature:
   • The canister temperature should range between +5°C and +30°C, with an ideal range of +15°C to +25°C.

How to Use Bostik Fixpro Turbo+ Foam Adhesive?

Foam Adhesive for Mounting Doors, Windows, Sills, and Gates

Bostik Fixpro Turbo+ can be used as a foam adhesive for the installation of doors, windows, sills, and gates, in compliance with the scope of use specified in ITB-KOT-2022/2235, Edition 1. The product is suitable for:

• Sealing spaces and gaps between the frame and the structure made of wood, metal, or PVC.
• Mounting windows and doors, excluding fire-rated products.
• Filling minor cracks and gaps at structural joints such as wall or ceiling transitions, as well as around plumbing and central heating installations, provided the partitions are not classified as fire-resistant.

Before starting the installation of windows and doors, carefully review the relevant installation instructions. To protect window and door frames and thin profiles from deformation, use spacers and wedges, and apply weight to sills during foam application and curing.

To improve foam structure, shorten curing time, and enhance adhesion, pre-wet the gaps with water using a spray bottle before application (do not wet at temperatures below 0°C). Keep the foam canister upright during use. Fill gaps to approximately 50% when using the hose applicator or 70% when using a gun applicator. For deeper gaps, fill them in layers, moistening each layer with water before applying the next. Spacers can be removed, and the sashes installed 24 hours after foam application.

Bonding with Bostik Fixpro Turbo+ (Panels, Decorative Elements, Insulation Boards, Mineral Wool)

Bostik Fixpro Turbo+ can also be used as a mounting adhesive for attaching various materials indoors, as specified in ITB-KOT-2022/2248, Edition 1. Its applications include:

• Attaching plasterboard to walls made of concrete, aerated concrete, silicates, and ceramic materials (including porous ceramics).
• Bonding OSB panels to walls and floors made of concrete, aerated concrete, silicates, ceramic materials, and wood.
• Mounting decorative elements such as rosettes, panels, and moldings made of EPS, XPS, PVC, gypsum, wood, and MDF/HDF to plaster and concrete.
• Fixing stone and wooden elements on concrete stairs, including treads and risers.
• Installing mineral wool boards on walls and ceilings made of concrete, aerated concrete, wood, and ceramic materials.

How to Glue with Bostik Fixpro Turbo+ Foam Adhesive?

Preparation Steps:

1. Prepare the Surface: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and ready for adhesive application.
2. Apply the Foam Adhesive: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to apply the foam adhesive.
3. Set Time: Allow the adhesive to partially set for 90 to 120 seconds.
4. Secure the Element: Quickly press and hold the element in place.
5. Remove Supports: Remove supports after 1 to 2 minutes, depending on the weight of the element.

Gluing Panels and Decorative Elements:

1. Apply Adhesive: On the prepared surface, apply adhesive along the edges, leaving a 5 cm margin, and in vertical strips 3 cm wide, spaced 30 cm apart. Ensure at least 5% of the panel surface is covered with adhesive.
2. Avoid Spraying Water: Do not spray water to prevent foaming.
3. Press into Place: Press the elements onto the substrate within 90 to 180 seconds after applying the adhesive.
4. Secure the Position: Stabilize the elements to prevent movement for 60 to 120 seconds, depending on their weight.
5. Curing Time: The curing process takes approximately 50 to 70 minutes.

Gluing Insulation Boards (ETICS):

1. Apply Adhesive: Apply adhesive along the entire perimeter of the board and in 3 cm wide vertical strips, spaced 30 cm apart.
2. Avoid Spraying Water: Do not spray water to avoid foaming.
3. Press into Place: Press the boards against the substrate within 90 to 180 seconds after adhesive application.
4. Secure the Position: Stabilize the boards for 60 to 120 seconds to prevent movement.
5. Curing Time: Allow 50 to 70 minutes for full curing.

Gluing Mineral Wool:

1. Apply Adhesive: Apply adhesive in vertical 3 cm wide strips, covering the entire surface of the mineral wool.
2. Avoid Spraying Water: Do not spray water to avoid foaming.
3. Press into Place: Secure the mineral wool to the substrate within 90 to 180 seconds.
4. Stabilize Position: Hold the wool in place for 60 to 120 seconds.
5. Curing Time: Allow 50 to 70 minutes for curing.

External Wall Insulation with Bostik Fixpro Turbo+:

Bostik Fixpro Turbo+ is an ideal polyurethane adhesive for external wall insulation, in compliance with ITB-KOT-2022/2236, Edition 1. This adhesive is perfect for securing a variety of insulation materials to external walls, including:

• Expanded Polystyrene (EPS): White and graphite.
• Extruded Polystyrene (XPS).
• Lamellar Mineral Wool: With a tensile strength of at least 80 kPa (TR 80), without additional finishes or coatings.
• Rigid Polyisocyanurate Foam (PIR): With double-sided aluminum cladding.
• Rigid Polyurethane Foam (PUR).

Filling Gaps and Pass-Throughs with Bostik Foam Adhesive

To achieve optimal foam structure, reduce drying time, and increase adhesion, it is recommended to moisten the gaps intended for filling using a water spray (this method is not applicable if the temperature is below 0°C). During application, keep the gun and canister in a vertical position.

• Fill the gaps up to 50% capacity when using a nozzle or up to 70% capacity when using a gun.
• For larger gaps, fill them in layers, ensuring each layer is properly moistened before applying the next.
