Adhesives for HERTALAN EPDM Membranes
Hertalan KS96 - Single-Component MS Polymer-Based Adhesive and Sealant
HERTALAN KS 96 is a specially designed adhesive for attaching HERTALAN EPDM rubber seals to various vertical and horizontal surfaces. It is also used for sealing bonded joints along edges. This adhesive offers excellent adhesion to EPDM membranes, is water-resistant, and maintains flexibility. It is applied as a single-sided adhesive and provides thermal resistance across a wide temperature range, from -40°C to +100°C after full curing.
Application:
- HERTALAN KS 96 is ready-to-use and should not be diluted or mixed with other substances.
- Application should occur in dry weather with a minimum ambient temperature of +5°C.
- Both the EPDM material and the substrate must be dry, frost-free, and clean.
- Adhesive should be applied as two continuous beads, each with a minimum diameter of 7 mm. Do not spread the adhesive.
For sealed seams (using HERTALAN KS 137), the edge zone (20 mm wide) should be sealed with HERTALAN KS 96. Apply the adhesive using a cartridge or bag, then press the seam with a silicone pressure roller, ensuring a 1 mm wide bead of adhesive emerges from the joint.
Hertalan KS137 - Contact Adhesive
Hertalan KS 137 is a ready-to-use contact adhesive designed for bonding seams of HERTALAN EPDM sheets and rolls, as well as for surface bonding on dry, smooth, and clean substrates, such as wood, concrete, and metals (including aluminum, steel, and galvanized sheet metal). It is particularly recommended for use at connections and terminations. This adhesive provides excellent adhesion to overlapping EPDM strips and various substrates. It creates water-resistant and flexible bonds. The adhesive must always be applied on both surfaces for optimal results. After full curing, Hertalan KS 137 offers thermal resistance from approximately -40°C to +80°C.
Application:
- Hertalan KS 137 is ready-to-use and must not be diluted or mixed with foreign materials.
- Apply in dry weather conditions with an ambient temperature of at least +5°C.
- Both the EPDM material and the substrate must be clean and dry.
- Apply adhesive to both surfaces to be bonded.
