Vertical Foundation Waterproofing
Vertical foundation waterproofing, along with horizontal waterproofing, is one of the most critical elements in construction. Its primary purpose is to protect foundation walls from moisture coming from the soil. Vertical insulation complements horizontal waterproofing, extending from the foundation footings to the splash zone where rainwater impacts the building. It must be seamlessly connected to horizontal insulation and transition into the plinth insulation zone.
The role of vertical waterproofing is to protect foundation walls and basement walls from:
- Moisture (moisture-resistant waterproofing)
- Water under pressure (water-resistant waterproofing)
Depending on soil type and water content, different waterproofing methods are applied.
