August 27, 2021What is a GKFI Board? (Type FH2)
A gypsum plasterboard is a construction material made of multiple layers of gypsum encased in cardboard.
GKFI Plasterboard Dimensions
- Width: 600 mm or 1200 mm
- Length: 2000 mm to 4000 mm
Gypsum boards can be cut to size, making them adaptable to the room’s dimensions, project requirements, and owner’s preferences.
Sheets are cut with specialized knives and mounted using screws onto pre-prepared metal or wooden structures.
Alternatively, they can be glued onto masonry or poured concrete walls, depending on the intended function and construction possibilities of the space.
Fire-Resistant & Moisture-Resistant GKFI (Type FH2) Gypsum Board
GKFI plasterboard combines fire resistance and moisture resistance, making it the most durable type of gypsum board.
- Reinforced with fiberglass for fire resistance.
- Contains a hydrophobic additive to increase water resistance.
- Suitable for load-bearing wall cladding in high-humidity environments.
- Designed for areas with humidity levels exceeding 70% over a 24-hour period.
- Commonly used in bathrooms, attics, and other high-moisture spaces.
This versatile board is the best choice for fire-rated and moisture-resistant construction applications.
