KABE KOMBI STONE
Grainy Plaster for Architectural Profiles on Facades
KOMBI STONE is a coarse, fast-setting plaster ideal for creating architectural profiles such as cornices, rustications, and grooves on building facades. Suitable for both interior and exterior use, it offers excellent adhesion, quick application, and durability.
Key Features
- Not suitable for stucco work on insulation systems; styrofoam profiles are recommended for such cases.
- Chloride-free, ensuring no risk of corrosion.
- Fast-setting for efficient work progress.
- Hydrophobic, providing excellent moisture resistance.
- Easy to apply and process.
- Reinforced with microfibers to reduce shrinkage and drying stress.
Surface Preparation
Ensure the substrate is load-bearing, stable, even, dry, and free from biological or chemical stains. For algae or fungi, use ALGIZID. Wash and degrease old or dirty surfaces with water and CLEANFORCE. Remove any loose layers like dust, paint, or plaster. Level uneven surfaces with appropriate leveling plaster and prime absorbent substrates with BUDOGRUNT ZG/WG. Allow a curing time of about 3 hours under optimal conditions (20°C, 55% humidity).
Preparation and Application
- Mix 5.0 liters of clean, cold water with 25 kg of KOMBI STONE using a low-speed drill until smooth.
- Avoid overmixing to prevent excessive aeration, which may weaken the material.
- Apply a contact layer, then build up the profile in layers depending on the thickness, smoothing as needed.
- Allow sufficient curing between layers. For larger profiles, reinforce with additional support.
Execution Tips
- Perform application in dry weather with temperatures between +5°C and +30°C.
- Avoid direct sunlight or strong winds during work.
- Use protective nets or covers on scaffolding for weather protection.
- Clean tools immediately with warm water after use.
Profiles should be seasoned before painting—allow one day of drying for every 1 mm thickness under 20°C and 65% humidity. Paint using breathable coatings like CALSILIT F, NOVALIT F, or ARMASIL F.
