APPLICATION

The adhesive is applied to both sides of the substrate using a wide brush or roller to ensure thorough coverage.

• After an open time of 5–15 minutes, the waterproofing membrane is firmly pressed onto the substrate to prevent air bubbles.
• The overlap seam should be at least 100 mm wide (80 mm for HERTALAN® KS 137 and 20 mm for HERTALAN® KS 96). After the open time, the seam connections are carefully sealed to avoid air bubbles and are firmly pressed with a silicone roller.
• Adhesive consumption is approximately 50 g/m. The bonded joint can bear full load after about 12 hours, with maximum adhesive strength and thermal resistance reached after approximately one week.

Substrates:

HERTALAN® KS 137 can be used on substrates such as heavy and lightweight concrete, non-sanded bitumen roofing membranes, bituminous insulation materials, wood, and similar surfaces. Substrates must be smooth, clean, dry, and free from oil or grease. Remove all sharp objects, such as stones or glass, before application. Do not apply adhesive directly to polystyrene foam or soft PVC.

Cleaning:

Tools can be cleaned using white spirit immediately after use.

Usage Time:

The bonded connection can be subjected to load approximately 12 hours after application. Maximum bond strength and thermal resistance are achieved after about one week.

Depending on the substrate, adhesive consumption is approximately 500–600 g/m² for a two-sided application. The open time varies significantly with external temperatures, typically ranging between 5 and 15 minutes.
