Soil Testing on Your Property
What is one of the first steps when you decide to build a house? Conducting soil tests on your plot. Marek Mularczyk, an expert from the Hydrostop brand, will guide us through this topic.
On our YouTube channel, a new video has been released as part of the “Sanier Waterproofing Studio” series.
What Will Hydrostop Expert Marek Mularczyk Tell Us About Soil Testing?
The very first task when designing the foundation for your dream home is to perform soil testing on your property. It’s important to remember that besides ensuring that your building has a strong structural base—meaning that the soil is load-bearing rather than non-load-bearing—there’s an equally crucial aspect: waterproofing. You need to know whether water can flow against your building or not.
Even more important, but often overlooked, is the question of whether water can temporarily rise. This depends on the layers of soil beneath your structure—whether they are permeable or not. All of these factors are revealed through thorough soil testing.
When reading the results of these tests, be aware that there are several potential pitfalls. I will discuss these in the next video.
